We’re more than halfway through the year, cruising into the backend of summer, having enjoyed many laps around the lake, strokes on the SUP, and marveling at the majestic sunsets to remind us that the lake life is the best life! It’s also a good time to share a 2023 half-time review of just how the lake market has been performing this year… starting with the list of lake homes sold from January – June.

Lake Sales Jan-June 2023

Our last Lakeside issue marvelled at the banner year 2022 pioneered for lake sales, with some of the highest single sales on record. And although it appears this year is keeping up with that average sale price so far, the number of total sales is lagging way behind. In fact, 2023 is on track to sell half the number of homes than it did last year, with only 24 homes sold from January to June.

Last year, an even number of lake homes were sold in the second half of the year, so we might expect around 50 homes to be sold by the end of 2023. That’s more than 52 less than in 2022 and 2021 and more than 100 less than in 2020. This all goes to show what we’ve been saying, lake homes are precious, so people hold on to them if they still fit your lifestyle, or let us help you sell them if they don’t.

We’ve just run the numbers on July’s lake sales and have the following for you to view as well…

Lake Sales July 2023

There were 6 waterfront homes sold in the Lake Country area across the 15 lakes – almost half of what was sold last year at this time.
